My husband and I went to a wedding last Saturday. And since it was a family affair, distant relatives showed up. What was amusing on that night, besides the party itself, was the trail of conversations. I suppose you could relate with at least one of the following as you might have found yourself in the same string of chats.

1. In the midst of mature people, exchanges usually center around the most recent illness, symptoms of such, medicines taken, who else is struck with it (it could be another family member or the nearest neighbor), AND the last person they knew who died because of it. I really think this topic sells hot that is why it made to the top spot.
2. Whereabouts of guests who did not show up.
3. Latest profession. Some really have the passion of describing what they do up to the most minute details.
4. If one is with first-time parents, experiences with their little rascals are highly shared.
5. FOOD. It could be a favorite dish or the ones served. Guests relate how they distinctly prepare native dishes and try to guess the most unthinkable ingredient thrown into the food served. I could only think about salt and pepper.
6. DRINKS. From the safest unadulterated drinks to the ones that may win you a ticket if caught driving by a police: liquors.
7. The latest and most sensational news. Nope, we did not talk about politics on that fateful night thank God, but we feasted on the scandal of one of the high schools here.
8. This should not make it on the list, but I would like to affirm the popularity of the Village People because their hit YMCA breaks language barriers. The moment the DJ played it, 75% of the crowd started to dance the once famous disco beat.
9. Who dances the most and who should enroll in a dance class. Geesh, everyone is a critique.
10. And since it was a wedding, it would be weird if people failed to talk about marriage life. I am a pro family person so I love this : )

Cólicos y algo mas...

Estos últimos quince días han sido un poco difíciles para mi esposa y para mi porque nuestro bebé ha pasado bastante fastidiado con cólicos de gases; llegó un momento en que los tres estábamos llorando, el lloraba de dolor y nosotros porque ya no sabíamos que mas hacer. Es tan duro ver que tu bebé que ni siquiera puede hablar se retuerce y recoge sus patitas del dolor y llora de una manera descontrolada.
Gracias a Dios estos últimos días han sido mas llevaderos, buscamos una segunda opinión de otro medico y ha mejorado notablemente. Ayer por la noche, a los días pudo dormir bien. Para nosotros eso fue un logro.
Pero lo que nos da fuerzas para seguir aun cuando estamos cansados y apenados es cuando el nos mira a la cara, se ríe y dice AGU! Eso realmente nos compra y nos recarga las baterías automáticamente.
Algo que mi esposa y yo le pedimos en oración al Señor es que desde ahora que nuestro niño es un bebé le permita decirle que lo ama y que lo adora.
El ser padres es una aventura hermosa y que sin importar si son hijos biológicos o adoptados son UN REGALO DEL SEÑOR.

Colic and other stuffs...
These days have been a bit difficult for me and my wife because our baby has been very upset due to colic. It reached a point wherein the three of us were crying, he was wailing because of pain while we were in tears because we did not know what to do anymore.
It is indeed heartbreaking to see our baby whimper not to mention his inability to say what he is going through. He twists in pain, huddles up his legs and cries uncontrollably.
Praise God because these past few days have been bearable. We sought another pediatrician’s opinion and changes start to slowly unfold. Last night he was able to sleep well after those restless nights. And that for us is a huge achievement.
Nevertheless, what strengthens us even though we are tired and down is whenever he looks at us, laughs and says AGU! That really brightens us and recharges our batteries automatically.
What my wife and I constantly ask the Lord in prayers is that our baby will love and worship Him even at his very young age.
To become parents is a beautiful adventure, and it does not matter whether the kids are biological or adopted for THEY ARE GIFTS FROM THE LORD.

GOD IS ABLE

Alguna vez has soñado que hacías un exorcismo a tu propia esposa????

Ayer por la noche tuve un sueño súper raro, creo que fue bien largo y como muy pocas veces fue de principio a fin. El sueño empezó con la imagen de mi esposa en la cama, estaba tapada de pies a cabeza con una sábana, la vi llorosa y con cara de preocupación y le pregunte como se sentía y si estaba bien, me contesto que estaba bien pero de pronto me contesto con una voz de ultratumba a una pregunta que le hice. Empezó a hacer gemidos y sonidos muy extraños, cuando de pronto me vi a mi buscando unas cruces, encontré dos y me puse una en cada mano. Con las cruces en mis manos me acerqué a ella y se las ponía en la cabeza, fue tan real que hasta podía sentir la fuerza en mis brazos. Le pedía al Señor que la proteja y a ese demonio le daba la orden que en el nombre del Señor Jesus la dejara en paz. El exorcismo fue exitoso y después de este por alguna razón en el sueño perdí el conocimiento, me desperté dos días mas tarde y me encontré con mi esposa que ya estaba bien. Mi madre apareció en el sueño y le pregunte que como estaba Edna, me dijo que estaba bien y que yo había dormido por dos días. El fin del sueño fue que ella estaba bien y que el Señor le había dicho que fue permitido esto para la purificación de su alma.

Have You ever Dreamt of Performing an Exorcism to Your Own Wife?

Last night I had an exceedingly strange dream. I consider it really lengthy and rare as it had a beginning and conclusion. The dream started with an image of my wife on a bed completely covered with a blanket. I saw her anxious and crying. I asked her if she was okay and she told me she was fine but her voice seemed to have come from the grave.

She started to moan and cry out eerie sounds, then suddenly I found myself looking for some crucifixes. I found two and held each one with my hands. With those at my hands I moved closer to her and placed it on her forehead. It felt so real that I could feel the force in my arms! I asked the Lord to protect her and commanded the devil to leave her in peace in Jesus’s name. The exorcism was a success and for some reason after that I lost consciousness. I woke up after two days and found my wife well. My mother showed up too and I asked her how my wife has been, she told me she was good and that I have slept for two days. The dream ended with my wife being all right. Without seeking for any reason why it happened, the Lord spoke and He said that He allowed it to purify her soul.

Some dream huh!

¡Lo que Dios da es bueno!

Estos últimos días han sido bastante interesantes para mi familia, se ha probado nuestra confianza en el Señor. Para empezar mi padre estuvo bastante delicado; mi madre, después de unos días de la enfermedad de mi papá también enfermó. Le detectaron una cantera en su vesícula y tienen que operarla; nuestro pequeño bebé de solo un mes de nacido esta bastante fastidiado porque se llena de gases y son periodos largos en los manifiesta dolores de pancita y se nos rompe el corazón verlo llorar, hay ocasiones en las que yo he terminado llorando después de una noche de cólicos. Gracias a Dios he tenido bastante trabajo en estos días y cuando digo bastante, digo BASTANTE, tanto que hubieron días en los que no puede ver a mi niño ni a mi amada durante mas de todo un día y una noche.
A pesar de todo esto, se que el Señor Jesus no nos abandona y que el está con nosotros. Mi esposa es un gran ejemplo para mi porque es una mujer fuerte y juntos se que vamos a salir de esta etapa pesada que se que no será la última pero se que al final los dos veremos hacia a atrás y podremos reconocer el trabajo de Cristo en nuestras vidas.

Whatever the Lord Gives is Good!
These past few days have been really compelling for my family. Our trust in the Lord has been tested. For a start my dad has been delicate, then not many days later my mom became sick too. A quarry of stones was tracked down in her gallbladder hence an operation is needed. Our little baby of one month has been colicky and it breaks our heart to see him wail in discomfort for hours. There are times wherein I end up weeping after a night of colic attack.
Praise God because these days I have had a great deal of work, and I say A GREAT DEAL inasmuch there were days that I was not able to see my wife and child. Despite all of these, I know that the Lord Jesus does not abandon us and He is with us. My wife is a great example for me because she is a strong woman and together we will be able to get through these distressing moments. I believe that this will not be the last because I know that in the end when the two of us will look back, we will recognize Christ’s work in our lives.
