La bendición de los hijos

Hace unos días una amiga de la familia nos contó que estaba muy preocupada porque ella creía que estaba embarazada de su quinto hijo (tienen cuatro hermosas niñas). Oh sorpresa, días después, gracias a Dios estaba embarazada. Hasta ahora se le ha hecho difícil aceptar que van a tener un nuevo regalito de nuestro Creador y lo que más les preocupa, no es el como mantener económicamente a la familia (Ellos son muy capaces y se que van a encontrar la manera de producir los recursos para mantener a sus hijas; lo que más les preocupa es ¿que van a decir en su trabajo? y ¿que van a decir a sus amigos?. La verdad esa no debería ser la principal preocupación, mi madre le decía a ella medio en serio medio en broma, contéstales : "Si estoy casada, lo mas lógico es que tenga niños, ¿no es para eso el matrimonio?" y sí, simple respuesta pero es muy cierta. El matrimonio es una bendición y gracias a Dios los niños no son un accidente, son el resultado del amor de los padres. El salmo 127, 3 dice "Los hijos son un regalo del Señor, el fruto del vientre es una recompensa". Por lo tanto hermanos demos impulso a la vida y si estamos en una situación parecida, recordemos siempre lo que el Salmo nos dice y también recordemos el viejo adagio que reza: "Todo niño viene con el pan bajo el brazo"

The Blessing of Children

A few days ago a family friend told us that she was very worried because she was suspecting that she was pregnant for the fifth time (they have four beautiful daughters). Days after, it was confirmed that she is on the family way again, praise God! Until now it is difficult for her to accept that they will have another gift from our Creator and what troubles her is not the financial challenge that comes along with it for she and her husband are able to meet the family’s needs, rather the comments from friends and colleagues. The truth is, that should not be the primary concern, my mother even firmly told her with an ounce of humor to answer them “If I am married, it is but reasonable that I have kids, isn’t  that what marriage is about?” and yes, the response may be simple but it is certain. Marriage is a blessing and praise God because kids are not consequences of accidents, they are the fruition of love between parents. Psalm 127:3 tells us Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward. Therefore brothers let us strive for life and if we are in the same situation, let us remember what the Psalm affirms us. Also let us bear in mind the great yet old cliché: “Each kid comes with a bread under his arm.”
